With a corporate mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™, Arthrex has pioneered the field of arthroscopy and develops more than 1,000 innovative products and procedures each year that support all aspects of orthopedics.The Design Quality Engineering team provides expertise in risk management, product quality, process control, verification & validation (V&V), and continuous improvement. Design Quality Engineers incorporate quality methods and tools, including applied statistics and external standards, to design experiments, develop test protocols, conduct investigations, and improve products and processes. The individual chosen for this position will assist in these activities as a part of Risk Management, Sustaining Activities, and Non-conformance Investigations. Our ideal candidate will be pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related field. This Co-op will run from January 2026 – June 2026. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility. Main Objective: To support Design Quality Engineers with Risk Management Periodic Review. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with the completion of the Periodic Review for applicable Risk Management Files. Aid in performing updates with information relevant to device safety. Analyze internal and external data, identifying any gaps in documentation. Assist with widespread updates, initiated from remediation efforts to ensure alignment with ISO 14971 across Risk Management Files, specifically file structures and risk assessment tools (dFMEAs and pFMEAs). Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience: Enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a degree in Engineering required.Junior or above, studying Biomedical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.) Must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training: Ability to effectively communicate, oral and written, and possess the ability to work through technical issues. Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to complete tasks, as well as interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form. Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills: Knowledge of surgical equipment/instrumentation and mechanical testing equipment preferred.PC, ProEngineer or other 3D modeling software a plus.
