Xcel Energy is seeking candidates to support our Infrastructure and Network Organization, specifically, within our Observability platform group in Denver, CO. The paid internship provides an opportunity to showcase your abilities in our Observability group that supports enterprise-wide infrastructure and networks and applications. The program provides practical work experience to develop your existing skillset, present to senior leadership, and collaborate with key internal stakeholders. The intern will be relied upon to play a role in achieving department objectives and goals. The program will allow you to apply what you've learned in school and further enhance your knowledge through hands-on training and provide opportunities to network and learn with other interns across the Infrastructure and Network organization. Typical intern responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Learn to use various Observability tools Implement, change and maintain monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions across various platforms Continuous improvement of processes and automation across IT Service Management Assist with updates, maintenance, and analysis of tools This position is for June 2026. These positions may have the possibility to extend beyond the internship's initial term based on the candidate's successful performance and Xcel's business needs. Minimum Requirements Current student, Junior status (as of May 2026) or higher Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in MIS/Computer Science/Data Analytics Able to commute to the corporate office in Denver, CO. Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) and/or part time during the fall (up to 20 hours a week). Preferred Qualifications 3.0 GPA (out of a 4.0 scale) or higher Completed 2 years of undergraduate coursework, including classes in scripting, infrastructure and networking fundamentals Experience with Observability tools and or infrastructure and network tools As a leading combination electricity and natural gas energy company, Xcel Energy offers a comprehensive portfolio of energy-related products and services to 3.4 million electricity and 1.9 million natural gas customers across eight Western and Midwestern states.
