Genesis10 is currently seeking a Systems/Business Analyst for a 12 month contract role with our client in Minneapolis, MN. This role is hybrid, working 3 days a week onsite. Project Overview:
The Systems/Business Analyst II will be part of the operations capital delivery project team, which handles around 25 projects under operations. The BA role involves navigating a large corporate environment and may be split between multiple large and complex projects. Deliverables:
Responsibilities include requirements gathering and documentation for functional and non-functional requirements, assisting with ULC governance processes, and working closely with QA test leads to map requirements to design capabilities and test cases. The BA may work on projects like the gas transaction system replacement (gas billing) and the newer SPP Market Plus project. Typically, the BA works on two projects simultaneously. What does a typical day look like? The BA is a core project team member reporting to the Project Manager. Daily tasks include gathering and documenting requirements, coordinating meetings, using tools like Excel spreadsheets and Jira, and assisting with QA test leads and ULC governance processes. The BA must be willing to self-start and not shy about coordinating meetings. Group size and key stakeholders: The BA will primarily support internal business units but may also interface with external vendors during requirements gathering to understand vendor software capabilities. The ideal candidate should have 5-7 years of experience. Training on client's processes and procedures would take a few months, during which the new BA would partner with an existing BA to learn the ropes. Work hours / shift:
Standard core hours are from 8 AM CST to 3 PM CST, with flexibility for early or later hours (9 AM to 2 PM). Overtime is not expected but may be required depending on project needs. Candidate Detail Section Top 3-5 skills and qualifications (technology/application/software, etc.): Navigating a large corporate environment. 5-7 years of experience as a BA in a large corporate matrixed environment. Experience in utility or client is preferred but not required. Proficiency in tools like Excel and Jira. Manager is looking for overall experience rather than local presence to MSP or Denver. Non-technical skills: Willingness and ability to self-start and coordinate meetings. Fast learner with a positive attitude. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Confidence and interpersonal skills. Ideal candidate background: 5-7 years of relevant experience in a large corporate matrixed environment, preferably within the utility sector or with client. Familiarity with waterfall projects; some experience with COTS software implementations and migrating on-premises solutions to vendor cloud environments. Projects typically involve operations software for transmission, gas, distribution, and renewables. Compensation Hourly W2 pay: $62.00 to $67.00/hour We have access to additional contract, contract-to-hire, and direct hire positions with various rate ranges.
