Senior Accountant


Location: Dallas, TX

Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Reports To: Assistant Controller
Department: Accounting

Overview:
Symbiotic Services is actively recruiting a Senior Accountant on behalf of a client in the manufacturing industry. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and will handle key responsibilities such as month-end close, reconciliations, fixed asset management, lease accounting, and tax compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post journal entries during monthly and quarterly close cycles.

  • Perform and review reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts (e.g., cash, prepaids, accruals, fixed assets).

  • Manage daily/monthly cash reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

  • Maintain the fixed asset register and record depreciation.

  • Account for leases under ASC 842 and manage prepaid expense amortizations.

  • Prepare accrual schedules to ensure accurate expense recognition.

  • Analyze cost accounting for raw materials, WIP, FG, and variances.

  • Perform general ledger analysis to identify anomalies and misclassifications.

  • Reconcile intercompany transactions and ensure proper eliminations.

  • Support timely sales tax and regulatory filings.

  • Assist with audit preparations and documentation.

  • Collaborate with teams across Purchasing, Operations, and IT to enhance financial reporting.

  • Support policy development, internal controls, and process improvements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of corporate accounting experience.

  • Proficiency in U.S. GAAP and general ledger operations.

  • Strong skills in cash reconciliation and financial reporting.

  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • CPA or CMA (active or in progress) preferred.

  • Experience in manufacturing or multi-entity environments.

  • Familiarity with Oracle ERP and Crunchafi lease accounting software.

Work Environment:
Primarily office-based with potential visits to production facilities. Must be comfortable working in a moderately active environment, with occasional lifting and physical activity required.
