Medical Assistant

The role of Medical Assistant involves performing vital sign documentation, preparing patients and rooms for exams and procedures, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment. You will provide essential patient care assistance to support the doctor's daily activities, which include greeting patients, taking vital signs, and preparing examination rooms. Additionally, the role requires assisting physicians with procedures by documenting medical history and case notes, relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person, and collecting patient data both in person and by phone. Responsibilities Prepare patients for examination/procedures. Assist physicians with procedures and document medical history and case notes Relay instructions from the physician to patients or authorized persons. Collect and document patient concerns and data. Message and care documentation in the electronic medical record for physician review. Accurately take and route messages, set up cases in the EMR system, and update demographics. Track and route test results to physicians/nurse practitioners for review. Communicate test results with patients when deemed appropriate. Facilitate patient care activities, including scheduling tests, reinforcing education, and performing triage. Maintain adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies. Proficiently use electronic health records for daily documentation and communications. Process orders appropriately. Essential Skills Proficiency in electronic health record systems Medical Assisting skills Experience with EMR systems Ability to perform phlebotomy Patient care skills Additional Skills & Qualifications 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience Medical scribing experience Work Environment This position operates within a busy Orthopedics specialty office. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with the flexibility to work until 6 PM if needed. The environment is dynamic and offers differential for bilingual candidates and an opportunity for overtime. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
