Position The position is based in Lake County, IL.
Responsibilities
Provide thought leadership in performance management, career development, strategy, and stakeholder management to a global function and executive team.
Lead a cross-functional team of Talent team colleagues to create and implement a comprehensive talent strategy to advance AbbVie’s talent pipeline in the client group with a focus on critical capabilities for future performance.
Partner with the BHR VP, function/area BHR, and other key stakeholders to influence talent and development strategies, aligning with the broader AbbVie Talent Management strategy and practices to improve talent outcomes.
Coach leadership to identify top talent within the organization, differentiating development and building a deep pipeline of talent. Provide input into development actions to fill gaps for high-potential executives and high-performing teams using data-driven insights.
Guide HR and business leaders to adopt an enterprise approach to talent management and make talent decisions aligned with business strategy.
Be a thought-leading voice to peers within the Talent Management team to ensure aligned processes and cross-functional talent development and deployment.
Oversee a seamless process for Performance Management and Talent Reviews; train BHR on practice, process, and tools and enable adoption by BHR and leaders to achieve consistent, improved talent outcomes year over year.
Act as a trusted advisor to BHR and business leaders on all phases of talent management, including succession planning, performance management, assessment and feedback, development planning, and senior leader transitions. Challenge appropriately to obtain ideal outcomes.
Lead several forums with executive and senior-level business leaders and HR to drive talent sharing across the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree a plus.
10+ years in Human Resources with emphasis in Talent Management.
Demonstrated results in complex projects across multidisciplinary, matrix environments; global experience strongly preferred.
Proven experience leading teams directly and indirectly.
Experience in roles where a strong point of view and theory of the case are critical to success.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to build executive-ready presentations and communicate with executive audiences.
Experience developing comprehensive talent strategies and implementing related strategic plans.
Experience leveraging executive business leaders to sponsor solutions.
Exceptional stakeholder management and consulting skills.
Advanced degree in Human Resources or Business Management; experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
