Soliant is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our school-based therapy team. As an COTA, you'll play a vital role in helping students with disabilities access their education and participate fully in school activities by addressing their fine motor, visual-perceptual, sensory processing, and self-care needs.
Responsibilities
Assist the OT in implementing treatment plans for patients with physical, developmental, emotional, or mental health conditions.
Guide patients through therapeutic activities, such as exercises and the use of adaptive equipment, to improve their motor skills and daily functions.
Monitor and document patient progress, reporting observations and any changes in condition to the supervising OT.
Educate patients and their families on how to continue therapy exercises and use adaptive devices at home.
Ensure a safe and clean environment for therapy sessions.
Qualifications
Completion of an Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Current COTA certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
State licensure as a COTA (requirements vary by state).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
