The Senior Project Manager position is responsible for providing overall administrative and technical direction for complex projects of varying sizes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing projects within the decided-upon budget, timeline, and scope. They will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, or project team members.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
- Interface with client representatives, union officials, and subcontractors. Update relevant stakeholders or team members on the project progress.
- Set project timeline and monitor project deliverables.
- Plan, coordinate and/or supervise activities of all company personnel on assigned project(s) to make certain work is completed under budget and on schedule.
- Authorize/approve all project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, change requests, etc.
- Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, and standards are followed to make certain we adhere to core values.
- Maintain official project log and documentation files in order to track project status.
- Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
- Manage job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.
- Coach and support project team members with tasks you assign them.
- Perform additional assignments per management's direction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum ten years’ heavy civil construction experience with at least 5 years in a Project Manager role
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), company policies, procedures and standards; union jurisdiction, labor agreements
- Strong business acumen in project planning and management
- Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory, and planning skills required
- Caltrans experience preferred
- Negotiation skills essential
- Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Knowledge of Hard Dollar software, Vista by Viewpoint ERP System, HCSS applications preferred
