Emergency Department / Acute Care Psychiatrist Opening - Wilmington, NC Coastal NCPosition Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate ED/Acute Care Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in emergency psychiatry, with a focus on delivering high-quality evaluation and management for both inpatient and outpatient populations.Position Details
- Full-time, hospital-employed position
- 7 on / 7 off schedule
- Responsible for 8 12 patients per day
- Access to full spectrum of psychiatric care, including ECT for treatment-resistant conditions
- Opportunity to teach psychiatric residents
- Supportive, multidisciplinary clinical environment Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and determine appropriate disposition (admission, placement, discharge)
- Provide timely assessments for both inpatients and outpatients
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and case discussions
- Take part in shared call rotation with other acute care psychiatrists Candidate Qualifications:
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry
- Prior experience in emergency/acute care psychiatry preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Eligible for medical licensure in North Carolina Compensation & Benefits:
