Software Engineer (AI) – Fortellar
Software Engineer (AI) at Fortellar contributes to building and maintaining AI-driven products and services, supporting the technical vision set by principal and lead engineers. You will collaborate on integrating large language models (LLMs) and contemporary AI frameworks, focusing on developing scalable, secure, and robust enterprise solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise software applications using modern AI tools and frameworks.
Assist in integrating and fine-tuning state-of-the-art LLMs (e.g., OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, Meta Llama) under the guidance of senior staff.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams — including product, engineering, and business units — to deliver technical solutions aligned with organizational goals.
Support the adoption, customization, and integration of AI frameworks, APIs, and code assistants as part of product features.
Write high-quality, maintainable code; participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
Apply industry best practices related to cloud deployments, security, and data privacy as instructed by team leads.
Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development, supporting automated integration and deployment for AI applications.
Work effectively in a collaborative, startup environment — adapting to evolving priorities and contributing ideas for continuous improvement.
Experience & Education
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information systems, or another relevant field plus combined equivalent of on-the-job experience.
5+ years of industry-relevant software engineering experience, preferably with hands-on exposure to AI integrations.
Strong hands-on knowledge of multiple programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, .NET, Go, Ruby, R, C#) and frameworks.
Experience with distributed systems, microservices, cloud-native architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Experience with cloud AI services, MLOps pipelines, and scalable data infrastructure.
Knowledge of security best practices, DevOps, and automation.
Demonstrated ability to write and review complex code, conduct code reviews, and maintain high quality standards.
Experience with various serverless, containerized, and orchestration technologies.
Implemented and managed CI/CD pipelines for software development, ensuring seamless, automated processes for integration and deployment.
