Insight Global is hiring: QA Data Analyst in Irvine

Overview

An employee in the Irvine area is seeking a QA Analyst to join the Data Engineering team. This role focuses on ensuring the accuracy and consistency of data across the data warehouse. The Analyst will assist with database testing to identify data quality issues and discrepancies, and will utilize Microsoft Purview for data governance. On a daily basis, the QA Analyst will develop and execute test plans and test cases for data warehousing and BI solutions, test BI reports and dashboards to ensure they meet business requirements, and will collaborate closely with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and maintain quality throughout the development lifecycle. The candidate must have experience with SQL Server and strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans and test cases for data warehousing and BI solutions.
• Test BI reports and dashboards to ensure they meet business requirements.
• Assist with database testing to identify data quality issues and discrepancies.
• Utilize Microsoft Purview for data governance.
• Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and maintain quality throughout the development lifecycle.
• Maintain strong documentation of tests, results, and data quality findings.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience with Database Testing.
• Cloud experience (prefers experience with Microsoft Fabric, but comfortable with MS Azure, AWS, Azure, & other cloud technologies).
• Experience working with SQL Server.
• Familiarity with ETL processes and tools such as Azure Data Factory, Fabric flows, PySpark Notebooks, SSIS Packages.
• Knowledge of data governance and data quality practices.
