This Flathead Valley company with roots stretching back to the 1980s focusses on a select few, large-scale residences each year. They are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join their team in a full-time, in-office role. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in high-end residential construction, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of estimating large, complex custom builds. Essential Functions and Duties:
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for high-end residential projects ($10M-$30M)
- Review architectural and engineering drawings, specs, and project documents
- Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis for materials, labor, and subcontractor work
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for pricing and scope clarification
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and ownership to develop bid strategies
- Participate in project handoff and preconstruction meetings
- Update and maintain cost databases, unit pricing, and historical cost records
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on custom high-end residential projects
- Proven ability to estimate complex builds from concept through construction documents
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Sage, or similar)
- Excellent organizational skills, communication and analytical thinking
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience preferred
