Human Resources Manager- Construction Industry Specialist

Construction industry company specializing in commercial projects. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, we are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Manager to join our team and help drive the organization's success through effective people management strategies.

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Human Resources Manager to handle all aspects of our HR department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR management, a deep understanding of the construction industry, and comprehensive knowledge of employment laws. This role requires a strategic thinker who can align HR initiatives with our company's goals and foster a positive work environment that attracts, retains, and develops top talent.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic HR Planning: Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Recruitment and Staffing: Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle, from job posting to onboarding, ensuring we attract and retain top talent in the construction industry.
  • Employee Relations: Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns, mediating disputes, and promoting open communication.
  • Performance Management: Develop and manage performance evaluation systems, set performance standards, and provide guidance to managers on performance-related issues.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs, design and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and promote career growth within the organization.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Manage the company's compensation and benefits programs, ensuring they remain competitive within the construction industry.
  • Policy Development and Compliance: Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Collaborate with the Safety Department to maintain a safe work environment and minimize workplace risks specific to the construction industry.
  • HRIS Management: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of HR information systems to streamline HR processes and improve data accuracy.
  • Workforce Planning: Conduct workforce analyses and develop strategies to address staffing needs in line with project demands and company growth.
  • Labor Relations: Manage relationships with unions, if applicable, and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Develop and implement initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.
  • HR Metrics and Reporting: Analyze HR data and prepare reports to guide decision-making and demonstrate the impact of HR initiatives on business outcomes.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the HR department budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a management role
  • Extensive experience in the construction industry or related field
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA,
