Position Overview The Human Resources Director is a strategic and operational leader responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of human resources management. This role ensures alignment of HR initiatives with the organization's mission, vision, and strategic objectives. The Director provides leadership and guidance in areas such as talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, compliance, organizational development, and workforce planning. The Director acts as a consultant and change agent, fostering a culture that supports the business goals and employee success.
Description of Duties Strategic Leadership Develop and execute HR strategies that support the organization's overall business objectives.
Partner with executive leadership to identify workforce needs, develop talent pipelines, and support organizational growth.
Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture aligned with the organization's values.
Talent Acquisition & Retention Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract top talent.
Implement effective workforce planning and succession strategies.
Design initiatives to improve employee engagement and reduce turnover.
Employee Relations & Development Provide guidance to managers and employees on employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and performance concerns.
Develop and implement training programs to support leadership development, diversity and inclusion, and staff growth.
Promote a culture of continuous feedback and professional development.
Responsible for the supervision of human resources staff.
Compensation & Benefits Manage competitive compensation structures and benefits programs to attract and retain talent.
Evaluate and recommend changes to ensure compliance with regulations and market competitiveness.
Oversee annual performance review processes and salary adjustments.
Policy, Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, FLSA, ADA, EEOC).
Develop, update, and enforce HR policies, employee handbooks, and workplace guidelines.
Maintain accurate HR records and safeguard employee confidentiality.
Organizational Development & Culture Lead initiatives to strengthen organizational culture, employee engagement, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
Support change management strategies during organizational transitions.
Measure and analyze HR metrics to inform strategic decisions.
Actively participate in the Human Resources group through the Council for Behavioral Health.
Performance Metrics Success in this role will be measured by:
Employee retention and engagement scores.
Time-to-fill and quality-of-hire metrics.
Compliance audit outcomes.
Organizational alignment of HR strategies with business objectives.
Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field from accredited college or university with four - ten years of experience in human resources.
Master's degree preferred.
Professional certifications such as SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent strongly preferred.
Valid Driver's License
Driving record acceptable to Carastar Health insurance carrier
Must maintain liability coverage on personal vehicles
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Demonstrated success in driving organizational culture, engagement, and change initiatives.
