We work with thousands of Kiwi organisations in sectors such as food & grocery, healthcare, agribusiness, DIY & construction, winegrowing, apparel and general merchandise to share accurate information with trading partners and consumers and streamline the way they work. GS1 NZ is part of a global family of not-for-profit, member-owned organisations, giving international connection without offshore direction.

About the role

GS1 NZ has multiple software-as-a-service platforms that enable effective product information and content synchronisation across the data supply chain. Used by over 8000 Kiwi businesses, this role contributes to the business requirements and high-level solution design for cost-effective and operationally efficient applications. As a Business Analyst, you will analyse, identify improvements and work closely with the internal development team, subject matter experts and external development/system integration partners to ensure clear understanding and documentation of business and system requirements that align with the proposed technical solution. You will work in an Agile framework and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to support successful outcomes and projects.

Skills and experience

This is a great opportunity and ideally you will have:

  • 2–4 years’ experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in digital product, SaaS, or technology-driven projects.
  • Proven experience gathering, analysing, and documenting business and user requirements (e.g., user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows).
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments (Scrum, Kanban, or scaled frameworks).
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business perspectives.
  • Competency with modern BA and product tools (e.g., Azure Devops, Miro, Aha, Figma, or equivalents).
  • Solid understanding of customer-centred design and digital product lifecycles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be someone who would relish being part of a growing, dynamic and strategically focused organisation with significant growth potential.

You’ll also be aligned to an environment based on our values:

  • We Care: We are a supportive and close-knit team.
  • We Connect: We stay close to our members, partners and our extended global GS1 family.
  • We Aspire: We are forward thinking and have ambitious plans for the future.

We offer free health insurance, flexible working, Life Insurance, Trauma Insurance and Income protection insurance.
