dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
to support our students with physical therapy needs across a variety of school sites. This is a
full-time itinerant position
for the
20252026 school year , providing services to students with disabilities ranging from
mild to severe . About the District:
a vibrant and multicultural community, operating
51 schools
and offering a wide range of support services to over 39,000 students. Our mission is to ensure all students receive the individualized support they need to access their education and thrive. Position Overview:
As a Physical Therapist Assistant youll work directly under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists (PTs), helping students improve their mobility, strength, coordination, and access to learning environments. Caseload:
Approximately
104 students currently require PT services
across the district. Caseloads are shared between two PTs and can
fluctuate based on evaluations and ongoing student needs . Flexibility and adaptability are key.
Setting:
This is an
itinerant position youll be providing services across multiple schools. A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a comfort level with travel are essential.
Population:
Students range in age from preschool through high school and present with
a wide range of physical, neurological, and developmental challenges .
Collaboration & Support:
Work closely with
district-employed and contracted Physical Therapists
Collaborate with
teachers, special education staff, parents, and related service providers
to develop and implement effective therapy plans
Support students in both individual and group settings, helping them access their educational environments and meet IEP goals
What Were Looking For:
Credentialed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
licensed in California
Experience in
pediatric or school-based settings
is
preferred
but not required
Bilingual in Spanish
is
strongly preferred
to better support our diverse student population
