Legal Secretary - Banking Finance

Our client, a growing Houston area law firm, has a great opportunity available for an experienced Corporate/Transactional Legal Assistant/Legal Secretary to join their banking and finance practice. This is a full time, direct hire position and is in the office 5 days per week.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Proficient with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Knowledge of legal billing software (preferably Aderant) Ability to type at a level of 70 WPM Excellent verbal and written communication skills Attention to detail with superior proofreading abilities Working knowledge of creating and editing legal documents Strong understanding of the county and state court systems Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced environment with various attorneys and teams 5 or more years of experience as a Legal Assistant/Leal Secretary supporting multiple attorneys in a law firm or corporate setting, preferrable with a transactional practice. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Organize and maintain correspondence, document, and computer-based files Provide telephone coverage for team, deliver messages Teleconferencing and arranging conference calls Arranges appointments, coordinate meetings, makes travel arrangements (including flight/hotel reservations), and submits reimbursement requests Perform various support services (e.g., courier deliveries, document processing center assistance, conference room reservations) Prepare stock and membership certificates Assist attorneys with time entries Redline documents Work with a variety of assigned attorneys and practice group areas as needed Work on complex organizational charts File on Secretary of State website and determine name availability Draft formation documents Prepare electronic closing binders Assist with the preparation of private offering documents Arrange attendance for CLE course and keep track of attorney CLE hours Review, correct, and disburse pre-bills and invoices COMPETENCIES
