Description

The Plant Manager is responsible for the comprehensive management of all Centre Hall's operations and plant functions, including leadership, production, maintenance, quality assurance, shipping and receiving, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations. This role plays a critical part in aligning plant performance with corporate objectives through strategic leadership, process optimization, and cross-departmental coordination.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations Management:

o Oversee all facets of plant operations to ensure optimal performance across production, maintenance, quality control, and logistics.

o Collaborate with Corporate Production Planning to develop and execute efficient production schedules that meet customer demand while optimizing resource utilization.

o Analyze and enhance production processes and workflows to drive continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and cost reduction.

• Quality & Compliance:

o Establish and uphold quality standards to ensure all products meet regulatory, customer, and company specifications.

o Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, food safety, and all relevant government and industry standards.

o Administer plant-wide quality, food safety, legality, and security policies, including prerequisite programs and quality systems.

• Safety & Environmental Stewardship:

o Promote and enforce a strong safety culture by conducting training, correcting unsafe practices, and proactively identifying hazards.

o Ensure timely investigation and documentation of workplace incidents and implement corrective actions.

o Ensure the wastewater treatment operations consistently meet or exceed environmental and regulatory standards.

• Cross-Functional Coordination:

o Work closely with the Crop Department to ensure efficient procurement and use of high-quality raw materials at optimal cost.

o Partner with internal departments such as HR, Purchasing, Engineering, QA, Environmental Affairs, and Safety Compliance to ensure smooth implementation of corporate directives.

• Leadership & Team Development:

o Lead by example, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

o Mentor and develop plant leadership, cultivating a pipeline of future supervisors and managers.

o Drive employee engagement through effective communication and support for professional growth.

• Financial & Strategic Management:

o Monitor and manage plant budgets, expenditures, and cost-control initiatives to ensure financial performance aligns with company goals.

o Champion energy conservation and sustainability initiatives to reduce operational impact and enhance efficiency

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Food Science, Business Management, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, operations, production, quality assurance, or plant management. Proven experience with ERP systems and production-related technology tools. Demonstrated knowledge of HACCP, GMP, food safety regulations, and quality assurance programs. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. Strong agricultural awareness, with the ability to manage crop logistics and raw product processing. Exceptional leadership, communication (written and verbal), organizational, and analytical skills.
