Our mission is to foster vibrant small business communities through mentoring and education . Our Mentors are the driving force in achieving this mission and are the backbone of our organization.
Prospective and current small business owners require a wide range of knowledge and skills to be successful. SCORE Mentors assist them in achieving their goals, by providing free business counseling. Please consider bringing your unique business knowledge, skills and experiences to strengthen our award-winning team in RI.
Our data shows that clients who receive mentoring are more likely to see positive outcomes such as businesses started, jobs created and increased revenues.
As a mentor you will:
Assist with developing long-term business plans
Connect clients with information and resources
Help clients evaluate and resolve problems
Provide guidance to improve operational effectiveness
Coach clients to be leaders and managers
And more
The ideal mentor has experience in the business world, whether in small businesses or large. Mentors are expected to be empathetic, professional, and effective at connecting with people. You set your own schedule. Work may be performed virtually or in-person with clients.
