DESCRIPTION
Employment Opportunity: Administrative Assistant II The City of Cuyahoga Falls is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Administrative Assistant II to support the Engineering Department. Under the general supervision of the City Engineer, this role performs a wide range of administrative and secretarial duties-from routine clerical tasks to complex office coordination-to ensure the smooth operation of departmental functions.
This is a dynamic opportunity for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values accuracy, and enjoys working independently while contributing to a collaborative team. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Key Responsibilities: Process departmental payroll and maintain records Prepare purchase orders, monitor invoices, and complete forms Answer and route incoming calls; provide information as needed Manage incoming/outgoing mail Compose, edit, and format correspondence, reports, and memoranda Input data, post to accounts, and compile reports Maintain organized filing systems (electronic and hard copy) Order and track office and custodial supplies Schedule appointments for the department head and vendors Ensure compliance with record retention policies Communicate effectively in writing and verbally Coordinate internal and external information flow Independently manage administrative responsibilities per City policies Support smooth and efficient office operations Adhere to job safety standards and demonstrate reliable attendance Tools & Equipment:

TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or GED Specialized coursework in clerical practices and computer applications At least two (2) years of progressively responsible administrative experience Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered Knowledge & Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel Strong understanding of office procedures and accounting principles Excellent grammar, spelling, and written communication Familiarity with roadway and utility construction is a plus Abilities:
Build effective relationships with staff and vendors Exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality Communicate clearly and professionally Manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Perform well under pressure and frequent interruptions Licensure & Special Requirements:
Valid State of Ohio driver's license Must meet the city's driver eligibility standards Must be a non-smoker and non-user of tobacco/nicotine products
