The Opportunity: The Senior Director of Manufacturing Operations is a pivotal leader at Avantor, responsible for the comprehensive oversight of manufacturing operations. This role focuses on fostering a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement within an OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and FDA-regulated environment. You will be instrumental in driving sustainable growth and ensuring world-class performance through the deployment of Avantor Business System (ABS) and Lean principles. Your Contributions: Education:

A bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Operations, or a related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred. Experience:

At least 10 years of leadership experience in chemical or FDA-regulated manufacturing environments is essential. Regulatory Knowledge:

Proven expertise in OSHA PSM compliance is critical. Team Management:

Experience in leading multifunctional operations teams encompassing production, maintenance, engineering, and quality. Lean Transformation:

Demonstrated success in leading Lean/ABS transformation and cultural change initiatives. Technical Background:

Strong technical foundation in chemical or pharmaceutical process manufacturing. Performance Management:

Proficient in strategic planning and cross-functional execution. Leadership Skills:

Capability to lead diverse teams and influence various organizational levels. Communication:

Excellent conflict resolution and decision-making abilities. Integrity:

High integrity and results-oriented approach, exhibiting a bias for action. Analytical Skills:

Strong troubleshooting skills, adept in data-driven decision-making. Motivational Skills:

Ability to inspire and engage teams in a fast-paced production environment. Technical Proficiency:

Familiarity with ERP systems, Lean tools, and operational dashboards. Your Responsibilities: Site Operations Leadership:

Provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring performance excellence across safety, quality, cost, delivery, and employee engagement. Compliance:

Maintain stringent adherence to OSHA PSM, EPA, FDA, and health/regulatory standards. Operational Oversight:

Oversee production, engineering, and maintenance functions to achieve performance goals. Lean & ABS Implementation:

Champion Lean manufacturing and ABS methodologies to enhance productivity and eliminate waste. Quality Assurance:

Establish compliance systems to meet internal and external standards and collaborate with quality teams. People Development:

Cultivate a high-performing team environment promoting accountability and engagement. Financial Accountability:

Manage site budget, drive resource utilization, and oversee capital investments. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Act as the primary liaison to executive leadership, customers, and regulatory agencies. This full-time role is based at Avantor's manufacturing facility in Paris, KY.
