Chemical Plant Manager
to lead day-to-day operations at our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in
chemistry ,
process engineering , and
team leadership
to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant plant performance. This role is responsible for plant safety, optimizing production processes, maintaining quality standards, ensuring environmental and regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Operational Leadership Oversee all daily operations of the chemical plant to ensure production meets safety, quality, and output goals. Develop and implement production plans, budgets, and KPIs in alignment with business objectives. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resources. Manage plant operating and capital budgets, ensuring cost control, accurate forecasting, and alignment with financial
targets. LMA – Lead, Manage, and hold Accountable direct and indirect reports to ensure established practices and policies are
followed.
Challenge and stretch staff to grow and take on more responsibilities and provide regular feedback to team
members. Process & Technical Expertise Apply chemistry and process engineering knowledge to troubleshoot production issues, improve processes, and scale
manufacturing operations. Collaborate with R&D to support new product introductions and process transfer to manufacturing. Maintain and update process documentation, SOPs, and safety protocols. Safety, Quality & Compliance Ensure adherence to all
OSHA ,
EPA , and local environmental regulations, as well as internal quality management systems
(e.g., ISO, GMP, HACCP). Lead plant safety programs and training to maintain a zero-incident workplace. Partner with Quality Assurance to ensure consistent product quality and compliance with customer specifications. People Management Lead, coach, and develop a team of supervisors, engineers, and plant staff. Foster a high-performance culture built on teamwork, accountability, and open communication. Conduct performance reviews, set development goals, and implement training programs. Continued alignment and advancement of our Core Values. Strategic Planning Identify, propose and implement approved capital improvement projects. Provide input into long-term manufacturing strategies to support company growth. Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory developments. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field 8+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Proven track record of process optimization and operational excellence in a chemical plant setting Strong analytical skills with experience in strategic frameworks, business modeling, and KPI design. Excellent communicator, skilled at influencing at all levels of an organization. Strong understanding of chemical
processes, thermodynamics, reaction engineering, and plant utilities. Ability to support a 24/7 working schedule. Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Knowledge of
Lean Manufacturing ,
Six Sigma , or other process improvement methodologies (certification preferred). Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to work in an industrial plant environment, including standing, walking, and climbing stairs. Exposure to chemicals, heat, noise, and industrial equipment (with appropriate PPE provided). Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends during critical plant operations. COMPENSATION + BENEFITS
Base salary + bonus based on company and personal performance.
