Position Summary:
The Business Development Manager plays a critical role in securing rooftop and in-building access to support Skywire's network deployment efforts. This is a highly collaborative, cross-functional position that engages with property owners, landlords, and building managers to streamline fixed wireless installations in multi-dwelling units (MDUs), commercial buildings, and structured cabling environments. The ideal candidate is a relationship-oriented self-starter who thrives in real estate negotiations and infrastructure planning.
What You Will Do / Key Responsibilities: • Identify, secure, and negotiate rooftop and in-building access agreements with landlords, property owners, and coop boards. • Lead discussions on right-of-entry and easement terms to support timely and cost-effective deployments. • Coordinate directly with Sales Engineering, Project Management, and Field Operations to align access timelines with installation schedules. • Evaluate properties for fixed wireless infrastructure readiness and facilitate internal deployment approvals. • Maintain accurate CRM records for all access agreements, permits, and building access documentation. • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with property management companies, developers, and commercial landlords. • Serve as the primary liaison for external building contacts during the planning and installation process. • Identify and mitigate risks or delays related to site access and permitting. • Assist in developing business cases for new building opportunities, incorporating financial ROI and feasibility analysis. • Standardize internal processes for site acquisition, permitting, and agreement templates. • Support zoning and permitting processes to ensure regulatory compliance. • Contribute to cross-functional process improvements in coordination with other departments. • Maintain strong awareness of competitive real estate access practices in telecommunications. • Provide regular updates on pipeline status, key wins, and roadblocks. • Track KPIs related to access timelines, costs, and success rates. • Represent Skywire at property management meetings and industry events, when needed. • Provide input on strategic market expansion plans through real estate insights. • Ensure proper handoff of building access information to internal implementation teams. • Assist in resolving landlord or tenant escalations during the implementation phase. • Participate in post-installation review processes to identify areas for improvement. • Collaborate with marketing and sales to identify building-specific messaging or opportunities.
Qualifications: • 3-5 years of experience in business development, real estate negotiations, telecommunications, or site acquisition. • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and execute rooftop and in-building access agreements. • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with decision-makers in real estate. • Familiarity with MDU infrastructure, structured cabling, and telecom deployments preferred. • Proficiency in financial modeling and ROI-based business case development. • Strong project coordination and organizational skills. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. • Working knowledge of zoning, permitting, and site compliance. • Proficiency in Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office; CRM experience (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) preferred. • Willingness to travel locally across service territories as needed. • Existing relationships with property owners, developers, or building managers a plus.
