Purpose of Role:
The Plant Manager is responsible for leading and managing daily operations of the plant, including production, safety, quality, maintenance, and workforce management. The role ensures that products and materials are managed efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and regulatory obligations. The Plant Manager provides strategic leadership to improve plant performance, fosters a culture of continuous improvement, and ensures alignment with overall organizational goals.
Strategic Leadership: EH&S - Responsible for the environmental health and safety performance. Engage, coach and enforce as necessary to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. Operational Efficiency: Develop and implement strategies that optimize resource utilization, improve productivity, reduce waste, and streamline processes. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks that could impact on the organization's performance or reputation. Ensure contingency plans are in place. Leadership: Provide strong leadership and guidance to the plant organization, ensuring alignment with overall objectives and values. Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with other managers in the Management Team to ensure Operations are integrated into all aspects of the organization, and communicate effectively with stakeholders such as customers, employees, and suppliers. S&OP Planning Leadership: Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (SOP) meetings, aligning sales forecasts, customer demand, and production capacity into a balanced and efficient plant production plan. Operational Excellence:
Process Improvement: Evaluating and optimizing existing processes to increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality. Lean Management: Implement lean management practices to increase efficiency and eliminate inefficiencies. Quality Management: Ensuring that products and services meet or exceed customer expectations. As a Plant Manager, you need to establish quality control procedures, create quality standards, and ensure that your staff follow them. Employee Engagement: Employee engagement is essential to achieving operational excellence. As a Plant Manager, you may need to develop strategies to engage your staff and create a positive work culture. This may include providing training and development opportunities, offering competitive compensation and benefits, and recognizing and rewarding high -performing employees. Supply Chain Optimization: Optimizing the supply chain, by improving inventory management processes, reducing waste and excess inventory, and streamlining logistics to minimize transportation costs. Production Efficiency: Focus on improving production processes to reduce waste, increase throughput, and improve quality. Cost Management: Focus on reducing overhead costs, negotiating better pricing with vendors, and implementing cost-saving measures such as energy-efficient equipment or waste reduction initiatives. Data Analysis and Metrics: Focus on implementing metrics and KPIs to measure performance across the organization, and using data analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Education: Bachelors Degree Experience: Minimum of 5 Years of experience in a similiar or compareable role.
