Overview
The Network Administrator is responsible for the advanced administration and strategic oversight of a complex network and server infrastructure. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing system software and hardware to ensure performance, security, and reliability. The position operates independently on high-level technical and business projects and may lead technology evaluations and team initiatives. Responsibilities Perform daily administration of network and server environments, ensuring consistent availability and reliability. Install, configure, and maintain system software, enterprise applications, and network infrastructure components. Monitor network performance and resolve complex issues through advanced troubleshooting and deployment of technical solutions. Plan and execute system upgrades, security patches, and the installation of new equipment and applications. Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery, security, and backup/restore policies and procedures. Lead the evaluation of new technologies and conduct in-depth analysis and feasibility studies to identify optimal solutions for enhancing network performance and efficiency. Serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert on highly complex issues requiring expert-level knowledge and judgment. Work autonomously, with project goals communicated in terms of overall solution objectives. Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to team members or project stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. 10+ years of progressive experience in network/server administration or a related IT discipline. Professional certifications in network administration (e.g., Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server) may be required or preferred. Demonstrated expertise in managing enterprise-level systems and leading advanced technical projects. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills. Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a collaborative and proactive approach.
