As a
Platform Engineer (GovCloud) , you will design, implement, and manage a highly secure and resilient
EKS-first platform
in
AWS GovCloud/DoD IL4+
environments. You’ll leverage best practices in
GitOps, IaC, supply chain security, and observability
to deliver platforms that meet strict compliance, security, and performance requirements. You’ll also work closely with engineering, security, and product teams to ensure platforms are built for
scale, reliability, and cost efficiency . What You’ll Do
Design, deploy, and manage an
EKS-first Kubernetes platform
in
GovCloud IL4+
environments. Implement
GitOps workflows (Flux)
for repeatable, auditable, and automated deployments. Build and maintain
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Terragrunt)
for secure, version-controlled platform management. Optimize
cluster autoscaling (Karpenter)
for cost efficiency and resiliency. Configure
EKS Pod Identity and OIDC
for fine-grained workload authentication and authorization. Manage networking, including
ingress/egress (ALB/NLB/Istio)
for service routing and zero-trust access. Enforce
supply chain security
with SBOMs, image signing, admission policies, and hardened container baselines. Define and monitor
SLOs/SLIs , ensuring robust
observability
and proactive incident response. Implement and tune
WAF and security controls
for compliance with DoD security requirements. Partner with government customers to ensure platforms align with mission needs and compliance standards. Preferred Experience
Prior experience with
USAF Platform One , including: Big Bang
(Kubernetes baseline) Party Bus
(paved-path CI/CD and hardened containers) Strong understanding of
DoD IL4/IL5 compliance requirements . Hands-on experience operating in
AWS GovCloud . Strong background in
DevSecOps, Kubernetes, and cloud-native security . Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Platform, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineer. Deep knowledge of
Kubernetes, AWS GovCloud, Terraform, and GitOps workflows . Strong background in
cloud-native networking, observability, and cost optimization . Familiarity with
DoD/IC security requirements . TS/SCI clearance preferred , but candidates who are
clearable
will be considered. Salary Range:
