Overview

Job Summary: To perform radiologic and other imaging procedures to produce images of the body for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries and interventional procedures, while ensuring optimum patient care and safety. Responsibilities

Performs fluoroscopic, interventional, and/or other specialized radiographic procedures to produce images of internal body organs and bones. Explains procedures to patient, obtains and records medical history relevant to the condition being viewed, selects appropriate equipment settings, and positions the patient in a manner to facilitate optimum imaging results. Views images to determine quality and forwards for review and interpretation; maintains applicable patient documentation. Maintains adequate supplies and a clean work area; reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor. Assumes responsibility for patient safety; provides physical and psychological comfort to patient. Ensures compliance with workplace safety, environmental, exposure control, and/or infection control practices. Performs other duties as assigned. Physical and Environmental Demands

Requires frequent exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical conditions such as high noise levels and exposure to heat and cold; constant handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment; exposure to biohazardous conditions with risks of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles; and/or exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. May involve occasional volume changes due to seasonal/clinical demands; requires precise measures of quantity and quality; frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking; and occasional lifting up to 100 pounds, crawling, crouching/stooping, climbing, pushing/pulling, and sitting. (Note: percentages reflect general practice patterns occasional up to 20%, frequent 2150%, constant 51% or more). Requirements

Education and Experience: Graduate of a Radiologic Technology Program accredited by a mechanism acceptable to the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT). Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required: Mississippi Radiologic Technologist license or eligible. BLS required; may be obtained within the first ninety (90) days of hire. ARRT registration or eligibility; ARRT registration in Cardiac-Interventional (CI) or Vascular Interventional (VI) preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
