Overview
Meharry Medical College has an outstanding opportunity for an OB/GYN Hospitalist to serve as Medical Director for our Labor and Delivery Unit, with an academic appointment as Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Responsibilities Provide inpatient OB/GYN hospitalist services, including obstetric triage, labor management, deliveries, surgical procedures, and gynecologic emergencies. Serve as Medical Director of the Labor and Delivery Unit, overseeing patient care quality, safety initiatives, operational efficiency, and interprofessional collaboration. Collaborate with midwives, nursing leadership, anesthesia, neonatology, and subspecialty colleges in MFM and GYN subspecialties. Engage in academic duties including teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows, and pursue scholarly activity and quality improvement opportunities.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, midwives, and practice providers with access to maternal-fetal medicine, neonatology, anesthesiology, and other specialties. Shared call schedule designed to promote work-life balance. Opportunities to teach, mentor, or participate in quality initiatives and clinical leadership.
