Under general supervision, performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radiopharmaceuticals; conducts high-quality testing on patients with specialized training in the safe use of radioactive materials, sophisticated imaging equipment, and knowledge in delivering quality healthcare to patients of all ages.
Reviews provider orders and consults with the Radiologist as necessary. Completes all departmental processes for results and documentation of exams. Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of all equipment within the Nuclear Medicine department. Prepares, calibrates, documents accurately, and administers radiopharmaceuticals via injection, ingestion, and inhalation. Performs SPECT imaging. Maintains a daily activities log. Ensures proper storage and ordering of supplies, monitors shortages, and manages special orders. Performs visual safety inspections and daily quality assurance tests on equipment, reporting issues to the supervisor. Evaluates recorded images for technical quality and demonstrates proper anatomy positioning. Provides radiation protection for patients, staff, and self according to safety standards and operates radiation detection equipment effectively.
Requirements include: graduation from a Nuclear Medicine Technology program, NYS license/registration, ARRT or CNMT certification in Nuclear Medicine, at least one year of Nuclear Medicine experience, and CPR certification.
Pay Range: $40.00-$50.00/hour. Salary is based on experience and qualifications.
