The Radiologic Technologist is a certified health professional who, under the direction of an authorized user, applies the art and skill of diagnostic imaging through the safe and effective use of ionizing radiation in diagnostic radiology. Responsibilities
Obtains patients clinical history and appropriate lab work, ensuring information is documented and available for licensed practitioners. Positions and immobilizes patients to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort. Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self and others. Performs radiographic procedures by selecting and operating imaging equipment and related accessories to successfully perform procedures. Verifies informed consent and completes pre- and post-procedure documentation. Assists licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures; applies aseptic technique as needed. Education
Associate degree from an ARRT-accredited institute (preferred). Licensing & Certifications
Certification and Registration with ARRT (required). State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state of employment). BLS Basic Life Support American Heart Association (required). Experience
1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care (preferred). Experience with Radiology Information System (preferred). Skills & Abilities
