Position Details ***This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite in either the southeast, southwest, or central United States. Travel will likely be required.***

Duties and Responsibilities

Perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriological tests.

Examine and analyze body fluids and cells; match blood for transfusions.

Familiarity with AABB requirements for blood product maintenance.

Analyze chemical content of fluids and test for drug levels in blood.

Prepare specimens, count cells, and identify abnormal cells in blood and body fluids.

Analyze test results and communicate findings to physicians.

Culture body fluids and tissue samples to detect microorganisms.

Test chemical content and reactions, determining concentrations like glucose and cholesterol.

Evaluate and modify testing procedures; monitor accuracy of tests.

Use universal safety precautions to protect against biohazards.

Order supplies and maintain a safe, clean work environment.

Maintain patient records, manage lab equipment, and oversee lab operations as needed.

Provide supervision and guidance to lab staff.

Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Completion of a formal Medical Technology training program leading to a Bachelor's Degree.

Certification by AMT, ASCP, or NCA.

Current BLS certification.

At least five years of experience as a Medical Technologist.

At least one year in a Lead role.

Recent clinical experience in direct patient care, with at least 6 months in the last year in the field.

Ability to multitask, pay attention to detail, and communicate effectively.

Proficiency with computers and MS Office.

Flexibility to adapt to shift changes and operational needs.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in English communication.

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions

Work primarily in an interior/office environment.

Sitting and standing for prolonged periods.
