Purpose This position participates in the daily operation of the meter shop by assisting with the inventory, distribution, and repair of water meters and related components. Essential Job Functions
Completes work orders assigned daily Investigates Customer concerns Prepares meters; tests meters; inputs test results in software and sends reports; conducts Maintains meter shop inventory. Installs, repairs, and disconnects water meters. Repairs or replaces water shut-off valves. Investigate water meter leaks. Check water pressure. Assists work crews in repair and maintenance duties as needed. Respond to after-hours emergencies. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent with one (1) year of mechanical repair or water distribution hardware installation; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history Work Location: 14 Interchange Dr. Work Schedule: M-F 7 am - 330pm
Additional Requirements Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post-offer/pre-employment medical screen; and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment. CITY OF SAVANNAH EMPLOYEE BENEFITS
