Performs screening and diagnostic mammography procedures with a thorough understanding of FDA and MQSA regulations as well as California state requirements. Responsible for equipment quality control test documentation. Must meet the continuing education requirements for California, FDA and American College of Radiology. May rotate through Bone DEXA services as needed. Responsibilities
Assist physicians, interpret orders, and explain procedures to RNs, patients, and families. Maintain a thorough understanding of department operations to assist non-technical staff in processing paperwork and films. In the absence of the Program Manager, may assume a leadership role to ensure continuity of service. Attend meetings or participate in programs to improve operations or services. Operate within a digital imaging environment. Comply with Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards; support the mission and quality commitments of Palomar Health. Qualifications
Minimum Education:
As required by certification and/or licensure Preferred Education:
Associate degree Minimum Experience:
1 - 2 years Preferred Experience:
3 - 4 years Required Certification:
Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT/R) BLS Heart Saver
Initial RQI within 30 days of hire Required License:
Mammographic Radiologic Technology Preferred License:
