Role overview:
EPIC Perioperative Application Analyst (Optime, Anesthesia & Device Integration) Responsibilities Include Install new applications, new components, and upgrade existing applications. Configure application settings. Provide go-live and rollout support. Interface with users/clients across the Montefiore Health System. Support users on new applications, modules, and functionality. Mentor and guide Application Analysts. Perform analysis of necessary application modifications and coordinate the modification with the appropriate Montefiore IT associates or the vendor. Determine how a new system, upgrade, or new component can best meet user needs. Analyze business/clinical needs and requirements; interpret end-user requirements and discuss options toward an optimal solution. Evaluate operational workflows and create system specifications from user requirements. Create test plans and test new systems, version upgrades, and any modifications; document test outcomes. Application implementation, troubleshooting, and support; participate in technical integration and interface build. Write and maintain current documentation; maintain training materials for users. Provide day-to-day operational support, advanced troubleshooting, coordinate modifications/updates, and pro-active monitoring. Provide 24 x 7 on-call coverage for user support on a rotating basis. On-site support as needed within Montefiore Medical Center hospitals and affiliates (on-site, rotational).
Required
EPIC certifications. Bachelors degree in computer science, Nursing, Health Informatics, or related field. Experience may be considered in place of a degree. 2+ years of related clinical or business experience. Experience with perioperative services (Pre-Op, Post-Op, Intraoperative nursing care). Significant nursing experience with IT aptitude is a plus. Strong technical skills including Windows, UNIX. Application implementation, troubleshooting, testing, and support experience. Strong desktop skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio). Technical understanding of hardware, networking, and servers; knowledge of device integration. Critical thinking; excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Adaptable in a rapidly changing environment with competing priorities. Meeting all requirements for Epic certification is a condition of employment.
Desired
EPIC Optime and Anesthesia certifications. Device Integration knowledge. Prior experience with Provation, and Epic Lumens. Understanding of HL7 and other health-related standards. RN, PA or clinical experience is a plus.
