Base pay range: $150,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr
Locations: New York City, NY; Boston, MA; Los Angeles, CA; Denver, CO; Seattle, WA; San Francisco, CA. Hybrid Schedule (M/F remote, T/W/TH in-office).
Magnite is the world’s largest independent sell-side advertising platform. Magnite (NASDAQ: MGNI) hosts data pipelines and platforms that enable publishers to monetize content across all screens and formats. The Core Data Engineering team maintains data pipelines handling large-scale data events and warehousing to support client reporting, internal data science, and business teams. We value collaboration, open discussion, and constructive feedback to solve large-scale data challenges. This role involves technical development across three platform-specific data engineering teams, with exposure to Spark jobs, Java-based real-time processing, and large-scale data warehousing.
Responsibilities
Get to work on handling internet-scale data problems
Help architect and build systems to process our data volume to empower all consumers
Hands-on involvement across the group\'s data pipelines and related systems for data delivery
Contribute to a culture of collaboration and mentorship
Typical Challenges
Highly-scalable infrastructure to handle peak/off-peak and seasonal traffic patterns
Cost optimization to lower infrastructure cost while maintaining performance
Technical architecture considerations with various SLAs for data delivery
Qualifications
5+ years of software development experience with a BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Ownership mindset across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to production support
Ability to engage in critical and creative thinking, present tradeoffs, and solve problems collaboratively
Experience designing/building systems that handle large-scale data volumes in a cloud-first setting, or demonstrated technical excellence with a desire to learn in data engineering
Current Tech Stack
Spark (batch + streaming) data pipelines (Databricks and on-prem), primarily using Scala
Streaming event processing with Java
Terraform, Docker, Jenkins for CI/CD / infra / deployment
Airflow for job orchestration
AWS infrastructure (RDS, EC2, S3, Kinesis, ECS)
