Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Monitor network traffic, system logs, and security alerts to detect and respond to threats
Maintain and improve security in AWS by managing IAM, monitoring for threats, and ensuring compliance with standards
Perform penetration tests to identify and help remediate security gaps
Provide security awareness training and guidance to employees
Investigate and remediate security incidents, including malware infections, phishing attempts, and unauthorized access
Manage distributed EDR / XDR platform
Maintain and configure security tools such as firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems
Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to implement secure configurations and best practices
Assist in the development and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and standards
Support compliance efforts (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, PCI-DSS) through documentation and audits
Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field 5+ years of experience supporting hundreds of end users in medium to large sized organizations 5+ years of experience in IT security or related role 2+ years of AWS experience, AWS certification preferred (SCS-C02) Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel, Log360) and endpoint protection platforms Understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and cloud environments Experience with incident response and forensic analysis Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree strongly preferred Microsoft Defender experience Microsoft Intune experience Azure authentication experience Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP (preferred but not required) Reporting Structure and Location:
This position will report directly to the Director of IT I&O and is based out of Frisco, Texas. Travel:
Up to 10% as required for business and customer events
