Northrop Grumman Space Systems Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal Engineer Software SW Applications Test Eng (RA) (24-396 & 24-397) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL. Position Overview: The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations. As a member of the Regional Applications Agile Release Train (ART) of the Missile Defense National Team for Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC), this position will participate in software design and peer reviews, develop test specifications and infrastructure, execute manual and automated tests, and perform analysis of C2BMC implementation. Essential Functions: Coordinate lab resources, test results, and verification status with the C2BMC program and customers.
Occasional Travel between Colorado Springs facilities/sites and Huntsville, AL, is expected.
Possess experience testing and evaluating a software-intensive system in various test environments, utilizing Agile development.
Requires a strong, self-starting individual capable of diving into problems with assistance from other test engineers and software developers.
Candidate experience should include:
Use of DoD test methodologies
Functional capability-related test/analysis planning and execution
Planning and execution of test data collection
Test data analysis and reporting.
The analysis experience should involve characterizing system, software, or component performance using quantitative methods.
Basic Qualifications: An active Secret clearance is required to start.
5 years' experience with a bachelors degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field; 3 years' experience with a masters degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field.
Test knowledge and experience
Experience with an Agile development process.
Automated testing for requirement verification and performance assessment.
Conducting post-processing and analysis of collected data.
Documenting software deficiency reports.
Strong verbal/written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: DoD 8140 certification at
IAT Level II or higher
is highly desired.
Experience in a DevSecOps environment is extremely desired.
A master's degree is highly desired.
