General Purpose: The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets Customers courteously, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows company standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may perform a range of functions in all store areas as business needs require and may be asked to perform additional tasks to help achieve customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions
Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do. Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; keeps aisles clear and exits accessible; reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership. Treats all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; remains friendly and professional at all times. Assists Customers as needed – is register-trained, helps with merchandise, and answers questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner; greets Customers with eye contact, a smile, and a courteous greeting throughout the Store, and thanks them at checkout. Provides prompt and efficient responses to Customers; responds to service calls promptly and escalates issues to Store Leadership when needed. Represents and supports the Company brand at all times. Performs cleaning tasks and replenishing supplies to maintain a clean and organized store and support areas. Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the Company dress code. Executes daily sizing and recovery to ensure neat, clean, and organized stores per company standards. Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandises items per monthly presentation guidelines, and maintains merchandise/brand name familiarity to assist Customers. Understands Loss Prevention Awareness, Inventory/Protection standards, and related policies where applicable. Safeguards confidential information, cash, and merchandise; maintains integrity in all interactions. Follows MOS (Missed Out-of-Stock) policies and processes for identification, disposition, and reporting to Store Leadership. Follows policies concerning cash, checks, credit cards and refunds; maintains accuracy in handling bankable tenders. Demonstrates a sense of urgency to perform duties efficiently while adhering to Store best practices. Competencies

Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required. Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store for up to 100% of working time. Ability to bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop. Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds. Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies. Associates who work Stockroom shifts: Ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.
