Townsen Memorial Surgery Center is seeking a full-time Radiology Technologist, Operating Room for our Med Center facility in Houston, TX. Responsibilities

Maintain sterile field and implement best practices while in the operating room Ensure all materials (radiographic supplies, proper ionizing factors, film) and other required equipment are present and in working order Adjust and set radiographic controls, such as kilovoltage and milliamperage, to prescribed specifications for proper exposure Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam-restrictive devices and patient shielding Position patients and adjust equipment to obtain the best quality X-ray of the requested body area (e.g., chest, limbs) Examine X-ray images for clarity and retake X-rays when needed Distribute films to appropriate medical staff and transfer images to electronic medical records (EMR) Conduct quantity and quality control checks to ensure the X-ray unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and facility policy Perform minor adjustments to equipment and schedule necessary repairs Maintain production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures Report accidents promptly and correct safety hazards Communicate with peers and management regarding hazards identified in the workplace Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality of patient records in accordance with HIPAA requirements, policy and procedure Follow all safety rules and adhere to the company standards of business conduct Performs other related duties as assigned Qualifications

Knowledge of human anatomy Knowledge of the principles and practices of diagnostic radiographic procedures Knowledge of basic chemistry, film apparatus, and film processing techniques Knowledge of how disease and injuries are diagnosed and imaged radiographically Knowledge of exposure factors, occupational hazards and safety precautions Knowledge of computer and MS Office suite Strong communication and attention to detail skills Ability to perform high quality radiology procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner Ability to set up and operate radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment Ability to lift and position patients for X-ray procedures Ability to maintain accurate patient records and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow Ability to respond quickly when priorities and/or the patients condition changes Ability to maintain a calm and helpful attitude under stress and resolve issues appropriately Ability to maintain self-control and professional demeanor in difficult situations Ability to adapt to change and variability in the workplace Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Education and Experience

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Associates Degree in Radiology Studies Licensed by the Medical State Board of Texas as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) Certified by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Basic Life Support (BLS) certified Two (2) years of radiology experience in a healthcare facility (with one year in the operating room) Benefits
