Job Objective :
The primary focus of this role is to identify new markets and opportunities for Morgan Olsons products and services, enabling the company to diversify its business and expand its reach. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching and targeting untapped market segments, developing market entry strategies, and fostering relationships that result in sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities :
These activities will include, but are not limited to:
Market Identification & Research : Conduct thorough market research to identify new and emerging market opportunities for Morgan Olsons products and services. Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes to identify viable growth areas for diversification.
Market Development : Develop and execute strategies to penetrate new markets and attract new customer segments. Work to diversify Morgan Olsons product offerings to meet the unique needs of different industries and customer bases.
Product & Service Expansion : Collaborate with internal teams to expand the companys product and service offerings, ensuring they align with identified market needs and create value for new customers.
Strategic Partnerships : Identify and pursue potential strategic partners that can help drive market expansion. Negotiate and secure partnerships that allow Morgan Olson to enter new markets effectively and efficiently.
Customer Relationship Building : Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in new markets. Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams to ensure customer needs are met and business objectives are achieved.
Business Growth : Support the creation of new revenue streams by diversifying the companys portfolio and ensuring alignment with long-term business goals. Proactively identify new business opportunities and develop customized solutions to address market gaps.
Cross-functional Collaboration : Work closely with sales, marketing, and product development teams to ensure market strategies are effectively executed and aligned with the companys overall goals.
Sales & Contract Negotiation : Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with new customers in targeted markets. Ensure that deals are structured to drive business growth while maintaining profitability.
Travel Requirements : Travel 60% of the time across the US and Canada to research new markets, build relationships with potential customers, and close deals in new business segments.
Adhere to Policies : Follow and promote adherence to company quality and safety policies, ensuring all activities align with Morgan Olsons commitment to excellence.
Knowledge & Experience :
The ideal candidate will have:
Commercial Vehicle Industry Experience : Experience in the commercial vehicle market or truck component sales, with a strong understanding of how to diversify product offerings and identify new markets.
Market Research Expertise : Proven ability to conduct market research, analyze trends, and develop actionable strategies to penetrate new markets and drive business growth.
CRM Proficiency : Strong CRM skills, with experience in Salesforce or similar platforms to track and manage customer interactions and opportunities.
Strategic Thinking : Strong ability to think strategically and innovate when identifying new market opportunities for business diversification.
Sales & Negotiation Skills : Experience negotiating with customers, including pricing and contracts, to successfully close deals in new market segments.
Microsoft Office Proficiency : Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word for reporting and presentations.
Personal Attributes :
Creative and strategic thinker who is comfortable with hands-on problem-solving.
Strong communicator, able to convey complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
