Nurse Manager (Full Time)

The Nurse Manager is responsible for the management of all aspects of patient care. Participates in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing patient care. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Organizes patient care and general unit activities to accomplish required functions with delegation of these activities to other staff as appropriate. Develops, implements and enforces policies and procedures which support the Hospital's mission, goals and objectives. Assists in the develops annual departmental budget and operates within budgetary guidelines. Recommends and ensures appropriate staffing levels. Allocates resources according to priorities. Generates creative solutions & attention to detail. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Gathers and analyzes information skillfully. Develops alternative solutions. Balances team and individual responsibilities. Demonstrates persistence and follow through even when faced with adversity or challenges. Ensures that staff complies with mandatory education, license requirements, mandatory health requirements, etc. Sets clear performance expectations and holds people accountable. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE Current license to practice Nursing in the State of Louisiana or multi-state compact license. Ability to communicate with patients, family, peers, and medical personnel. Must be adaptable to change and receptive to delegated responsibilities; A spirit of cooperation, support and understanding for working with the program director, faculty, chief residents and center staff. Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Minimum of 3 years of management experience within a health care organization. Physical Demands/Work Environment Requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to deal with stressful situations and conflict resolution. Must have normal hearing or utilize adaptive devices to listen with a stethoscope to discern breath sounds, heart sounds, bowel sounds.
