As an onsite Systems Administrator III, youll lead sophisticated infrastructure strategies, optimize mission-critical systems, and steer the adoption of emerging technologies with confidence and independence. Youll collaborate with stakeholders, apply analytical skills, and make decisions that power technology across the county. Main Responsibilities
Responsible for daily administration of the LCTC network/server environment along with project work. Installs, configures, and maintains system hardware/software. Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues and deploy solutions. Plan and implement upgrades, patches, and installation of new applications and equipment. Ensure proper security controls in access, logging, and auditing. Create technical support documentation for systems and applications. Assist with developing a disaster recovery, security, backup, and restoration plan. Implement and administer disaster recovery solutions and perform system failovers to ensure business continuity. Assist with evaluating new technologies to optimize network efficiency and performance. Configure backups, configure alerts, and ensure backups and alerts are working as designed. Plan and administer Microsoft licensing, including annual true-up to ensure accurate license tracking and compliance. Participate in weekly on-call rotation for after-hours ITS support-related issues. Performs other duties as directed. Requirements
Bachelor's degree with major coursework in Computer Science and five years work experience related to enterprise-level computer system/network administration, management, or support; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as determined by ITS Management. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows client/server operating systems and Microsoft Active Directory desired. Background check required. Valid Florida Driver's License required. May require after hours, weekend or emergency (natural disaster, major incident, etc.) support. Knowledge of Microsoft client and server patch management processes desired. Knowledge and experience implementing disaster recovery solutions, with proven ability to perform failovers in high-availability environments. Strong desire to learn and apply emerging technologies. Enterprise level Wi-Fi, Radius, LAN/WAN, Fiber, DNS, Active Directory, DHCP, TACACS, Palo Alto firewalls, VPN, Extreme Networks switches, Cisco routers, BGP, OSPF, FortiSIEM, SolarWinds system monitoring/alerting applications, and Milestone IP based video surveillance systems. Experience with Ivanti Security Controls patch management, Microsoft MCM or similar imaging and patch management tools, vulnerability management, cybersecurity, penetration testing and remediation, Nutanix VDI, HYCU and Backup Exec backup and recovery software, endpoint security products, anti-virus/anti-malware tools, Microsoft 365, AWS and similar cloud products, Microsoft MDM, password managers, Okta and MFA solutions.
