Senior Inventory & Operations Specialist

$83,000.00/yr - $87,000.00/yr Responsibilities Inventory & Demand Planning: Maintain sales forecasts in partnership with the sales team and translate forecasts into NetSuite monthly demand plans. Monitor inventory daily to ensure 90-day stock coverage and take timely action to avoid out-of-stocks and overstocks. Monitor SKU performance and lead rationalization recommendations to reduce inefficiencies. Create, maintain, and improve documentation and SOPs for planning processes. Generate BOMs, work orders, purchase orders, and transfer orders in NetSuite and maintain master schedules. Foster and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with all vendors to ensure seamless operations and mutual success. Maintain visibility into co-manufacturer capacities and adjust schedules as needed. Manage domestic and international vendors to ensure timely deliveries. Track incoming inventory, drop-shipments, and quarantined stock; mitigate delays. Continuously solicit competitive bids and proposals from suppliers to ensure optimal pricing and value for all component purchases.

Operational Leadership: Lead Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) meetings, presenting inventory updates, insights, and KPIs to stakeholders and leadership. Execute and refine S&OP strategies to improve inventory turns and avoid stockouts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Finance, IT, Marketing, etc.) to align supply and demand strategies.

Data Analysis & Reporting: Track and report on forecast accuracy, inventory performance, and operational KPIs. Analyze trends and adjust forecasts based on real-time sales data. Provide strategic input into product launches, capacity planning, and vendor performance.

Strategic Contributions: Identify process inefficiencies and lead optimization initiatives. Support the rollout of new products with detailed supply chain planning. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and logistics.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in inventory & operations, preferably in dynamic consumer goods. In-depth NetSuite knowledge with multi-location inventory, advanced BOMs, assembly items, and advanced inventory management. Proven purchasing and procurement experience, including vendor negotiations, PO management, and sourcing strategies for domestic and international suppliers. Strong understanding of supply chain purchasing cycles, lead times, and cost optimization strategies. Demonstrated demand planning and forecasting experience; experience with make-and-buy operations. Solid understanding of inventory performance metrics (turns, margin contributions, etc.). BA/BS in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related 4-year degree; inventory or supply chain certification is a plus (e.g., APICS). Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills with experience in logistics software. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage changing priorities. Self-motivated and able to work autonomously.

Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer; must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Work Location & Schedule

Onsite presence in Chicago Potential for hybrid schedule after onboarding and probationary period.
