Summary
The MRI Technologist performs all magnetic resonance procedures to produce cross-sectional images of patient's body for diagnostic purposes according to protocol and age specific needs.
Responsibilities
Performs all magnetic resonance procedures to produce cross-sectional images of patient's body for diagnostic purposes according to protocol and age specific needs. Performs all tasks involved in MRI screening and safety for MRI patients, families, and others that are required to enter the MRI environment. Follows all QA/QC guidelines for all equipment. Administers contrast materials and prepares and operates the MRI scanner equipment and ancillary equipment. Performs clerical duties in RIS, PACS, and hospital computer systems are associated with this position. Rotates call to provide coverage outside of normal business hours. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age. Other duties as required.

Technical Expertise
Experience performing MRI scanning is required. Experience in hospital environment is preferred.
Education And Experience
Education: Graduate from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology is required. Licensure: None Certification: MRI certification from the ARRT or ARMRIT is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Years of relevant experience: Minimum of 2 years is preferred. Years of supervisory experience: None
