Overview Gilbane Development Company is seeking an experienced and dynamic Development Director, Higher Education Partnerships to lead and expand our growing HE-P3 subvertical focused on P3 development opportunities within the Higher Education sector. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in early stages of Partnership Development, focused on lead/pre-sell generation, validation and education of potential Higher Education partners/administrators and a de-centralized team of Gilbane Business Development Professionals. This role requires a dynamic and visionary professional with strong skills in interpersonal communication and relationship building, project and design development, transactional structuring, and stakeholder management.

This role can be based out of any U.S. based Gilbane office location.

Responsibilities

Opportunity Formation and Strategy Development: Lead the investigation and development of opportunities, at early stages, and evaluate/formulate pre-sale strategies that may support pursuit ready clients and Projects

Project Development: Manage the pre-sale identification, assessment, and development of P3 projects that include; project design and feasibility, team formation, procurement strategy and identification of Gilbane Value Proposition and Win Themes.

Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with Higher Education clients and administrators for the purposes of identifying and developing a Project Champion(s). Leverage existing relationship with Gilbane BD professionals and existing/new strategic partnerships with firms and connectors.

Financial Structuring: Using Gilbane templates, tools and analyst support, establish early benchmarking development modeling that evaluates preliminary Project feasibility and value.

Thought Leadership and Brand Development: Identify and assess new market opportunities (geographic, physical asset type & other), and develop strategies to enter and succeed in these markets by leveraging the Gilbane brand and our experience and capability.

Qualifications

Education: MBA or equivalent advanced degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in P3, infrastructure development, finance, or a related field, with a strong track record of successful project delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous Construction, development and/or design experience

Previous on-campus work experience (as employe or vendor)

A network of University relationships and industry connections to facilitate Projects

Experience working with public agencies and understanding of public sector procurement processes.

Familiarity with regulatory environments in the United States.

This position can be performed remotely or from any U.S. location where Gilbane has an office. Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.

The pay ranges from $175,000.00 - $225,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
