Overview
Associate Medical Director CVDME (San Juan Capistrano, CA) We are seeking an experienced medical leader to drive medical affairs and clinical direction for Cardio, Vascular, Diabetes, Metabolic and Endocrine (CVDME). This role supports growth and strategic initiatives across Quest Diagnostics and requires collaboration with external partners and internal teams. Responsibilities
The chosen candidate will be responsible for providing medical affairs and clinical direction for CVDME diseases, guiding efforts companywide. Work with external partners: academic institutions, KOLs, customers, payers, and regulatory agencies as a medical director reporting to the Medical Director, CVDME. Provide strategic insights to the CVDME franchise, including efforts relating to test development, licensing, joint partnerships with academic experts, technology evaluation and providing clinical relevance of testing for commercialization. Establish a large network of collaborators. Initiate and collaborate with R&D project pipelines. Understand feedback and what new tests need to be developed. Understand internal mechanisms leading to project completion. Support business growth in areas of expertise with understanding of challenges facing endocrinologists, non-interventional cardiologists, internists and primary care in group practice and medical centers. Develop reimbursement and clinical utility plans for new and emerging testing across cross-functional teams. Advise Quest CVDME and General Diagnostics senior management on trends and actions to incorporate into business and strategic planning. Interact with academic institutions, key opinion leaders, and review new research developments; make recommendations on strategies and tests to develop R&D and Clinical Franchise plans. Participate as a member of the CVDME Franchise team in significant scientific, business and policy decisions impacting testing quality and clinical utility. Honor requests for consultations from clinicians regarding test appropriateness and interpretation; support high-quality patient care. Interact with internal teams (Client Services, Clinical franchise teams, Sales and Marketing, Operations) to facilitate information transfer related to Medicine and Science. Engage with payors, policy makers, patient organizations to drive reimbursement schedules and address patient needs. Attend national and international meetings and review courses to maintain knowledge and provide representation for Quest Diagnostics. Perform other duties as assigned; support the commercial team for critical customer meetings as needed. Support the commercial team when needed for critical meetings with customers via phone or in-person visits. Qualifications
M.D. or D.O. Board certified or eligible in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology with focus on metabolism. Broad experience with endocrine disease diagnosis and management. Ability to work with specialists in CV and related fields and to collaborate across clinical and laboratory settings. Strong communication skills, particularly with medical professional clients. Experience solving complex problems requiring in-depth evaluation of factors. Judgment within broadly defined practices and policies to select methods and criteria for results. Personal adaptability and ability to lead change; capacity to work in a fast-paced environment. Passion for patient care and services; strong executive presence and communication skills. Ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders and influence major business decisions. Capability to respond to inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or industry peers. To Apply
