Position Criteria

Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience. Demonstrated experience with identity and access management (IAM), including Active Directory, SSO, MFA, and password security enforcement. Experience managing antivirus/endpoint protection systems in an enterprise environment. Expertise in VMware, Windows Server, and Active Directory administration. Proficiency with scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Python, Bash). Experience with endpoint management platforms (SCCM, JAMF, Mosyle). Experience with backup/disaster recovery systems. Experience managing technology lifecycle planning, updates, and end-of-life transitions. Familiarity with purchasing and procurement processes for IT hardware/software. Familiarity with educational platforms such as Canvas and Google Workspace for Education. Performance Criteria

Infrastructure & Virtualization: Administer VMware virtual server environment, including provisioning, patching, monitoring, and performance optimization; manage Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file/print services; automate routine administration tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash. Cybersecurity, Identity & Data Protection: Lead implementation of cybersecurity best practices for servers, storage, and endpoint devices; administer identity and access management (IAM), including account provisioning, role-based access, password policy enforcement, and multifactor authentication; manage enterprise antivirus/endpoint protection platforms, ensuring systems are protected and monitored for threats; monitor security alerts, analyze logs, and respond to potential intrusions or incidents; conduct regular vulnerability assessments, system audits, and patch management cycles; maintain disaster recovery readiness and test business continuity procedures; assist in user awareness efforts, reinforcing cybersecurity best practices. Systems Deployment, Lifecycle & Endpoint Management: Oversee enterprise device management platforms (SCCM, JAMF Pro, Mosyle) for patching, application deployment, inventory, and compliance; manage system lifecycle planning, including evaluating new technologies, coordinating updates and upgrades, and planning for end-of-life (EOL) transitions; track hardware and software warranties, licensing, and support agreements; coordinate with IT leadership on purchasing and procurement for servers, software, storage, and endpoint management solutions. Educational & Cloud Applications: Support district applications including Canvas, Google Workspace for Education, and related SIS/LMS integrations; administer access controls, single sign-on, and account lifecycle management; ensure cloud application security settings are aligned with district policies. Emerging Technology & AI: Explore and recommend safe, effective uses of AI-driven tools to improve system monitoring, cybersecurity defense, and IT workflows; stay current on AI developments in system administration, cybersecurity, and education technology. Collaboration & Leadership: Serve as technical lead on infrastructure, cybersecurity, lifecycle, and procurement-related projects; mentor and provide guidance to junior IT staff in systems, cybersecurity, automation, and endpoint management; collaborate with district leadership, school staff, and vendors to plan system lifecycles, capacity, and security strategy; maintain up-to-date documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
