Sr. MRI Technologist

UCSF Health The Department of Radiology is a 24-hour, seven day a week operation providing imaging services for adult and pediatric inpatients and outpatients. The MR Senior Radiologic Technologist provides technical knowledge and/or coordinates the delivery of MRI services. Under the direction of a qualified physician, this position will operate a variety of equipment including high field strength magnets and support systems with MRI safety as a priority. The MR Senior Radiologic Technologist will be responsible for patient coordination, acquisition, processing, and archiving of all patient data. Responsibilities
Operate MRI equipment and support systems under the direction of a qualified physician; prioritize MRI safety. Coordinate patient flow, acquisition, processing, and archiving of all MRI data. Train new staff and existing staff on new technologies; maintain and operate equipment per manufacturer specifications; report problems promptly. Oversee provision of MRI services and staffing coverage in the absence of the MR Supervisor when required. Work independently and with initiative to achieve high radiographic quality; interact with Radiologist, Clinicians and peers in a cooperative manner. Qualifications
Graduate of a formal radiology technology training program from an AMA approved school. ARRT Certification in MRI (ARRT approved MRI Certification). BLS Certification. Venipuncture Certification. Minimum 3 years of experience with high field MRI systems. Competency in 3 of the 6 specialty scans within 6 months of hire: Cardiac Imaging; Fetal Imaging; Whole body Pediatric scans; Special procedures (HIFU/DBS, etc.); Pediatric/Adult Anesthesia; Breast Imaging. Flexibility in scheduling, ability to rotate shifts and provide weekend/holiday coverage. Flexibility to rotate to other sites when necessary. Preferred Qualifications
