Overview
Junior or Assistant Specialist Raleigh lab Join to apply for the Junior or Assistant Specialist Raleigh lab role at University of California, San Francisco. Responsibilities Extract DNA and RNA from meningioma tumor samples. Process serum samples for calculation of blood hormone, metabolite, protein, and nucleic acid levels. Generate sequencing libraries. Generate sequencing data. Perform bioinformatic analyses. Collaborate on projects involving these samples emanating from a multi-institutional U54 SPORE award to understand patient and environmental factors contributing to meningioma biology and clinical outcomes.
Required Qualifications
Junior Specialist - Baccalaureate degree (or equivalent) in the basic sciences (biology) or at least four years of research experience. Assistant Specialist - Masters degree in the basic sciences (biology) or a baccalaureate degree in the basic sciences (biology) with 3 or more years of research experience. Familiarity and experience with bioinformatics. Exceptional capacity for teamwork including receiving feedback and altering workflows to accommodate the overall scientific aims of the group. Leadership capability with a track record of scientific and professional mentorship, punctuality, timely responsiveness to email, lab notebook maintenance, data analysis, and lab organization experience.
