Histology Tech - Pathology (Full Time) - 7013 at St. Mary's Medical Center - Huntington, WV. The Histology Tech, under the direction of the section supervisor or designee, receives and accurately processes surgical or diagnostic tissue specimens from various departments and physician offices. Accurately prepares histological slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis by a pathologist. Identifies, prepares, cuts, stains and preserves specimens in such a manner as to assist the pathologist in rendering a reliable diagnosis. Maintains Pathology laboratory equipment and supplies, and monitors daily quality control. Performs and maintains accurate files. Prepares for and attends tumor board meetings.
